No Rest for the Dead. Two Alone. Over the past thirty years, Weston has assumed many names and countless disguises, enabling him to lure eight wealthy women out of their fortunes before they disappeared without a trace, their families left without answers and the authorities without clues.
The only common trait among the victims: Drex is convinced that these women have been murdered, and that the man he knows as Weston Graham is the sociopath responsible. But each time Drex gets close to catching him, Weston trades one persona for another and disappears again.
Now, for the first time in their long game of cat and mouse, Drex has a suspect in sight. Attractive and charming, Jasper Ford is recently married to a successful businesswoman many years his junior, Talia Shafer. Drex insinuates himself into their lives, posing as a new neighbor and setting up surveillance on their house.
The closer he gets to the couple, the more convinced he becomes that Jasper is the clever, merciless predator he's sought--and that his own attraction to Talia threatens to compromise his purpose and integrity. This is Drex's one chance to outfox his cunning nemesis before he murders again and eludes justice forever.
But first he must determine if the desirable Talia is a heartless accomplice. Don't miss the spine tingling suspense and tantalizing romance in this thriller about a daring pilot caught in a race against time from 1 New York Times bestselling author Sandra Brown.
Rye Mallett, a fearless "freight dog" pilot charged with flying cargo to far-flung locations, is often rough-spoken and all business, but soft on regulations when they get in the way of meeting a deadline.
But he does have a rock-solid reputation: So when Rye is asked to fly into a completely fogbound northern Georgia town and deliver a mysterious black box to a Dr. Lambert, he doesn't ask questions. As Rye's plane nears the isolated landing strip, more trouble than inclement weather awaits him. He is greeted first by a sabotage attempt on his plane that causes him to crash land, and then by Dr. Brynn O'Neal, who claims she was sent for the box in Dr.
Lambert's stead. Despite Rye's "no-involvement" policy when it comes to other people's problems, he finds himself irresistibly drawn to the intrigue surrounding his cargo. Soon Rye and Brynn are in a treacherous forty-eight-hour race to deliver the box before time runs out. With everyone from law enforcement officials to hired thugs hot on their heels, they must learn to trust each other so they can protect their valuable cargo from those who would kill for it.

It's the trial of the century in a 's North Carolina town. Murder and vigilante justice. War hero and law student Wes Ross has to save his uncle--but hide the truth. Taught to shoot in the rough logging camps of the North Carolina swamps, Wes Ross remembers his lessons well. Dodging hostile gunfire with dozens of other young Marines, he storms a remote Pacific island as one of Carlson's Raiders in the first commando-style attack of World War II.
He blasts several Japanese snipers from their palm-tree hideouts with buckshot before an enemy bullet sends him home. The Carolina homefront includes a new girlfriend and a new occupation, learning to be a rural lawyer in his uncle's law office, including courtroom intrigue and what goes on behind the scenes. Wes, like his uncles, is a good man, the kind who takes up for the poor and downtrodden, looking out for those who are easy prey for bullies.
Frog Cutshaw is the storekeeper in the Caney Fork backwoods, a swaggering ex-moonshiner who is deadly with his ever-present. Frog's daylight rape of a married woman and the brutal killing of her husband bring on Bible Belt vigilante justice, an eye for an eye, a life for a life. Wally Avett is a retired newspaperman.

He lives in North Carolina. The story also unfolds kind of ass backwards too. Early in the story you can start to put together things but you continually ask yourself what the heck is SB up to with this one. Undoubtedly there will be many questions. And there were. Undoubtedly there will be a twist that you will not see coming. And there was. We find ourselves in Buckhead, Atlanta where the murder of Paul Wheeler takes place at a local hotel.
The crime is coldblooded and the crime scene leaves us with many troubling thoughts and uncertainty. You have Julie who is a beautiful and sexy Art Gallery owner as the one suspect and Derek who is a Defense Attorney finding himself in a spot where he had no intention of being in.
As usually SB not only gives us two amazing main characters in Derek Mitchell and Julie Rutledge but in this one she surrounds them with two additional characters that added so much to the story.
Creighton Wheeler was a sick son of a bitch to put it bluntly. He was also that guy that had it all.Untungnya twist akhir akan merekatkan semua konflik kejutan. Although he has an airtight alibi, Julie is sure he arranged the whole thing.
Undoubtedly there will be a twist that you will not see coming. Dodge Hanley was a private investigator that played by his own rules. Great book and I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Sandra Brown or of this genre! The title should be at least 4 characters long. Anyway, Creighton is carefully setting everything up to make it look like Julie and Billy were partners in Paul's death, which causes Derek to doubt Julie, even though he wants to have sex with her as well.
Even though this book was a little different, in that we found out fairly early on who the killer was, it still had twists that I wasn't expecting!
Everything fit together perfectly and made perfect sense!
